विद्युत्षडतन्त्रोद्भव (vidyutṣaḍatantrodbhava)

IAST name: vidyutṣaḍatantrodbhava.

My zeroth album is now released on heerdyes.bandcamp.com. [EDIT: the album is now resident here]. Complete with album art, few bonus images of my instruments which were instrumental in the creation. You might have a slight difficulty in pronouncing the name. In some older browsers you might not even be able to see the devanagari script properly. Hence the IAST equivalent has been provided. The reason for this bombastic effort is merely this: name collisions.

Ever since I started naming variables I have been plagued by the pernicious problem of nomenclature. I frequently lose sleep over directory paths and file names. It was not easier for album names. In fact I spent almost a week coming up with the initial name. Took another week exploring it’s usage in various sentences. Imagine my pain when I realized I had not ‘googled’ the name! My misery deepened when google found matches. Perhaps unsurprisingly there was another album with the same name. As I am a huge fan of synchronicity, I will add a link to this album: Overdue Residue. I had an epiphany. Perhaps this is why sanskrit is complex. Perhaps the language is designed or evolved to uniquely identify experiences! Maybe it is just a side effect that can be used to communicate. I decided to rechristen my album. Another couple weeks were spent staring at sandhi rules, shabdkosh, spokensanskrit.org, etc. I wanted the name to reflect the instruments used to create the tracks. All the musical pieces consist predominantly of one electric guitar, looped to taste. The other sounds were added much later (courtesy sonic pi). The name vidyutṣaḍatantrodbhava is bound to have multiple interpretations, as is true for all sanskrit. One interpretation (mine i.e.) is: that which has manifested from the electric six-stringed instrument. Exact derivation is left as an exercise for the reader.
